After visiting Bali in 2015 I was so inspired by all the beautiful handwoven fabrics there that I immediately signed up for a weaving workshop when I returned home. Like everything else I do, I learn the basics and then go off on my own, not wanting any rules to impose on my creative journey. I quickly learned that although I respect and admire the perfectly neat weavings I often see, I prefer to push the boundaries and incorporate unconventional materials to create a truly unique piece of artwork. In these pieces, I push the boundaries turning craft into a fine art form.
